Where Did You Go For Your Favorite Summer Treat In Kat Country?

Summertime seams to be an automatic pass to eat things you normally wouldn’t eat on a daily basis. Let’s throw caution to the wind and demolish an entire hot fudge sundae! No matter how old we get, we always remember those hot summer days where we lived for that special treat we just had to have all summer long! For my kids, I can always get them to behave if I bribe them with “Ice Cream Clowns” from Baskin Robbins. Something I remember from my own childhood but always seemed illusive. We always got the bargain ice cream so that didn’t usually include clowns! I think just about every grown kid in America remembers “Bomb Pops” from the ice cream truck. (Which by the way, Smirnoff’s new “Red, White and Berry” tastes pretty darn close with an added kick! …For those of us who are now adults! )  Summer is also never complete for me if I haven’t had blue cotton candy from the county fair. Has to be blue! But I think my favorite location had to be the old A&W in Clements on HWY 88. I remember always stopping there as a kid traveling to and from Lake Comanche! Best Cheeseburgers ever! I know it’s still there but I think it’s Webster’s? Another great little place was MRS. B’s Frosty in Angels Camp. Do you remember the frog out front? Sadly another nostalgic ice cream and burger shop demolished to make way for a new bypass.

I want to know where you remember getting your favorite summer treats from and is it still there? If we haven’t tried it, maybe it’s time for a Kat Country Road trip! Leave a comment on our Facebook and you will automatically be entered to win a family four pack to “Six Flags Discovery Kingdom!”
