At least three out of five people say they’re going to a barbecue on the Fourth…it’s the most popular cookout day of the year.
And there’s good news if you’re hosting one: apparently, it’s not going to cost too much.
Nope, seems the American Farm Bureau Federation has just released its annual study on how much a summer cookout should cost–and they say it’s just $55.70 for 10 people, or only about $5.70 per person.
Sounds too cheap to me, but the Farm Bureau says that for those prices, you can buy: Eight hot dogs and buns and eight cheeseburgers and buns, plus pork ribs, potato salad, baked beans, chips, condiments, lemonade, chocolate milk…and watermelon for dessert.
And the cost is down 1% from last year, thanks to slightly lower meat prices.
