A friend of mine was teaching his kid to mow lawn for the first time.  When i arrived I noticed he had him running the weed wacker and doing the edging FIRST. Before he

mowed the lawn. When I asked why he had him trimming and edging first – he said:

“You always edge first and then mow the lawn…everybody knows that.”

He could obviously tell I was a little perplexed.  Then he said:

“When you paint a room in your home, do you do the edges first? Or do you start with the walls?

He does have a point and it has been a long time since I mowed a lawn…but I don’t ever remember edging first.

Do you edge & trim first – then mow.  Or is it vise versa?  We’d love to hear from you if you’re a landscaper…or if you’ve ever mowed a lawn before.
