I have a phone charger with a short in the cord somewhere – but rather than spend the 10 bucks to buy a new one – ever night I twist a kink in it and set a book on it

to hold it that way – so the power can flow though it and charge my phone.
I also used to drive a car with a gas gauge didn’t work. No matter how much fuel you put in it it always read “empty”. But rather than repair it, I would keep track of my mileage to know when it was time to refuel.
I also had a pair of hair clippers that had a short in the cord. And that is risky business – because you do not want them conking out half way through a haircut…which actually happened!

I’m not a cheapskate – I just don’t like to waste…ANYTHING!
So if an item can function…or still has an ounce of life in it – I’m happy to keep on using it. I’ll find a workaround that will help it keep going.
Is there something that you refuse to get rid of (or replace) even if it’s slightly broken? It can be a car – a household item – or appliance. It’s broken…still works – so you continue to use it…but refuse to replace or fix it.
