A parrot orders on Amazon…
Yes, in Greenwich, East London, England, it seems, 39-year old Corienne Pretorius recently got a random package from Amazon: a $13 pack of gift boxes. But she hadn’t ordered it and had no idea how it wound up at her house.
Until she investigated, and finally figured it out: Her PARROT did it.
That’s right, “Buddy”, her African Grey parrot. Seems Corienne has an Amazon Echo at home, and Buddy apparently mimicked her saying “Alexa” and giving a command. And whatever Buddy said, it somehow wound up making Alexa think he was trying to order a package of gift boxes.
Luckily, Amazon says that anything you order with Alexa has free returns…so Corienne won’t be stuck with a bill, for the boxes.
[Editor’s note: And let’s hope she doesn’t get stuck with a bill, either, for the BIG-RIG full of CRACKERS that are coming next.]
