The Ultimate Star Trek Geek Experience

As you might know from my absence last week through this last Wednesday, I was on vacation. I went to visit my brothers, sister and brother-in-law up in Washington… mostly Seattle. One of the super cool things to go see is called the Museum of Pop Culture. They have several music exhibits like the guitars of history room, a Jimi Hendrix exhibit (a Seattle native) and a sound lab where you can go into small studios and play drums, keyboard, electric guitars and sing karaoke. They also have non-music exhibits like the history of horror movies, the infinite worlds of science fiction and my personal favorite ‘Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds’.

I spent about an hour in the Star Trek exhibit alone but had I not had my niece, daughter and wife with me, I probably could have spent 3 hours in that one spot. I’m a trekkie from waaaay back and I was fascinated by everything there was to see. Not the least of which was the original set from the bridge which is owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen which he loaned to this exhibit for all to enjoy. Below is a gallery of shots from the bridge, to the hi-tech used by the shows characters and a timeline of the history of Star Trek. Enjoy!
