Operation Iraqi Children
Operation Iraqi Children is a grass-roots program founded in early 2004 by actor Gary Sinise (Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, CSI: NY) and author Laura Hillenbrand (Seabiscuit: An American Legend). Sinise and Hillenbrand created OIC to give concerned Americans a way to reach out to war-stricken Iraqi children and support American troops in their efforts to assist them.

The March of Dimes main purpose is to help fight prematurity and birth defects. The Central Valley in one year has 1,988 babies that are born too soon, 1,336 babies are born with a low birth weight and 137 babies in the valley don't make it to their first birthday.

This agency helps with the education and the work training of the retarded and developmentally disabled.
Carole Sund Foundation
After the violent death of their daughter Carole Sund, grand-daughter Juli, and Silvina Pelosso in the spring of 1999, Francis & Carole Carrington decided that anything they could do to prevent violent criminals from going free would be worth the effort. This organization has been instrumental in the assistance of many missing persons search campaigns. They are supporting over 100 cases nationwide to help return missing people.

Children's Crisis Center of Stanislaus County

The Children’s Crisis Center is a private, nonprofit organization that provides shelter to abused, neglected and at risk children as well as support services to their families. The Center is distinguished as being the only program of its type in Stanislaus County. Services are provided free of charge to families in situations that, without intervention, are high risk for abuse and neglect.
Coalition on Homelessness and Poverty
The Coalition on Homelessness been working since October, 2000 in Stanislaus County, first under the direction of the Coalition on Homelessness of San Francisco and now in partnership with New Hope Christian Fellowship where we have joined with several other ministries to form the Coalition On Homelessness And Poverty-Stanislaus County. They produce a valuable newletter called the Curbside News. Check out their website and see what you can do to change the face of poverty in our county.
Anyone who has been faced with a terminal illness or progressive cancer knows what Hospice can do. They need your volunteer time, effort and financial support. They have recently opened Samaritan Village in Hughson.

For example, food, clothing, and many other goods, which can be reused to help needy families in the Southwest Modesto area.
Health Services Agency Foundation
Founded in 1982, the HSA Foundation is a volunteer organization that raises funds to support the work of the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency (HSA). HSA provides over 260,000 patient visits on an annual basis to the citizens of Stanislaus County. Volunteers are needed for raising funds, working on special events and for assisting with daily operations of the agency.

Memorial Hospital Foundation
Memorial Medical Center provides and promotes effective inpatient and outpatient health care services, and fosters an integrated system of care in partnership with physicians, other health care providers and payers. The facility provides a full continuum of care including: 24- hour emergency care, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, outpatient surgery, intensive care services, physical therapy and home health.
Mighty Women of Modesto

We provide an emergency shelter for women in need with room and board, counseling, and training. Each individual is assessed on a case-by-case basis. MWOM is a group of women dedicated to help their fellow woman. They need help with phone calls and cooking.
