A 3.5 magnitude earthquake shook Oakland last night around 7:18pm. The USGS (United States Geological Survey) described the shaking near the epicenter as “light to week” but said it could be felt from San Jose to Santa Rosa.
No immediate signs of damage or injury were reported. BART Officials did stop train service for 10 minutes to inspect tracks and the cameras at the Giants-Reds game at AT&T Park swayed a bit but they never stopped play.
I’ve been in one earthquake in my life time –
I was living in Dubai in 2013…and didn’t even know it happened because our building was constantly rattling and vibrating because of the construction that was happening on all sides of us.
Have you experienced a seismic event?
Where were you? What was it like? Did you stand in a doorway or hide in a bathtub? I think I’ve heard that’s what you’re supposed to do…or is that for a tornado?
I am SO not prepared for an earthquake!
